The Gift of Fear (Book Review)

Dating and Domestic Violence

This bestselling self-help book talks about recognizing the signs of violence before it occurs. It emphasizes honing and listening to your intuition. For example, if the elevator door opens up, you may see someone inside who makes you uncomfortable but still go into a confined space with them to not appear rude. Or you may go on a date with someone who disrespects your boundaries, but not want to hurt their feelings by being polite and nondirect when shutting them down. But this book instead teaches you how to abide by your instincts when it comes to your safety in relationships, out in public, and many other scenarios.
