Our Mission
Million Little is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that empowers and supports the healing process of children and their families who have experienced trauma through the power of creativity.
Youth experiencing incarceration, foster care system, those in poverty and those suffering from violence/adversity are all part of the population that Million Little serves.

Imagine a community where every child has access to someone who truly believes in their potential regardless of their circumstances.

We provide strengths-based therapeutic arts programs, youth resources and educational workshops for children, youth and adults in LA County and beyond.

Our new transitional support/community based program offers youth 16-24 the opportunity to explore their interests, unlock their creativity, and look inward to find their strength. We work hard to make them feel safe enough to share their authentic voice with us each week.

Untold Story
I don’t understand why (skin) color makes a difference.

In our school program we started one session asking everyone to share their strength, but most of our students struggled to find one. Sadly, many of our children are conditioned to limit themselves instead of acknowledging their potential. Because of the environments they are exposed to they are often ostracized and unheard. Their differences have not been seen as positive assets, but instead reasons they are not good enough. One child said, “I don’t understand why [skin] color makes a difference.”

Oftentimes youth in our programs do not feel comfortable advocating for their preferences. They may not be used to having a lot of options, or just scared to voice their opinion in a group setting. Across programs, when a question is put to the group for decision most youth will say either option is fine or that they are open-minded. Yet their input is an integral part of designing our program because we focus on their individualized interests.

Our Programs
Children & Youth
We custom-design our programs based on the needs of participants. We use art that empowers, art that aids with social/emotional expressions, art that heals and allows our youth to see their lives in a positive light.
Professional Development
We provide workshops and trainings that build strategies for adults to use when working with children who have experienced trauma. Our workshops and trainings also enhance their professional and personal growth.
Research
Million Little conducts ongoing research projects. Our research not only informs our practice and methodologies, but the community at large.
